Tips and Techniques

  • Make your dog work hard if you use tidbits (a small piece of treat).  Only giving one after he/she has obeyed several commands.

  • No senseless petting. Make your dog obey a command or two first, then pet by your invitation only.

  • Never strike or beat your dog; not even with a rolled up newspaper.

  • When playing tug of war, never let the dog win.
